Arvin Classic coming up

HUBBARD - Several area football players will be involved in the Mahoning Valley Coaches' Association Jack Arvin Classic Thursday at Hubbard High School.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Tickets are $6 and are available at the gate.
Among the local senior all-stars selected to play for the Red Team include Jake Kruegel (Leetonia), Seth Harding (Salem), Kyle Nannah (Sebring), Jarrod Lewis (Springfield), Bill Prosko (United), Josh Cosgrove (Salem), Nick Oliver (Crestview) and Nate Carman (Wellsville).
Struthers' Dallas Saunders will coach the Red Team, which is made up of seniors from Mahoning and Columbiana counties. Brookfield's Randy Clark will coach the White Team, which is made up of players from Trumbull County.
Lisbon hoops camp
LISBON - Lisbon High School's annual basketball camp for boys in grades 4 through 8 will be held from 9 a.m. to noon June 23 through 26 at Lisbon High School. Forms can be picked up at the high school. Cost is $25. Fee includes a basketball and T-shirt. Checks should be made payable to Lisbon Athletic Department, 260 W. Pine St., Lisbon, OH 44432. Touchdown Club to meet
LISBON - The Lisbon Touchdown Club will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the high school. The new coach will be introduced.
Gateway name change
ST. LOUIS - When Youngstown State University's football team takes the field this fall it won't be playing in the Gateway Football Conference.
League officials and member schools agreed on Friday to change the name of the Gateway Football Conference to the Missouri Valley Football Conference effective immediately.
It represents the second name change for the football league, which begins its 24th season this fall. Initially, the conference competed under the Gateway Collegiate Athletic Conference (1985-91) and the Gateway Football Conference (1992-2007).
Members of the Missouri Valley Football Conference include Illinois State University, Indiana State University, Missouri State University, North Dakota State University, the University of Northern Iowa, South Dakota State University, Southern Illinois University, Western Illinois University, and Youngstown State University.
