Michael Morgan
SALINEVILLE — Michael Gene Morgan, 43 of 37564 St. Rt. 39 died early Saturday morning as a result of a fire at his home.
He was born in Steubenville, Ohio, November 22, 1964, a son of the late Charles “Gene” Morgan and Barbara Johnson Morgan of Salineville.
Mike had been employed as a tower painter and a taxidermist. He enjoyed hunting, competitive archery, and sports in which he was a fan of both the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Mike was a veteran of U.S. Marine Corp where he attained the rank of Lance Corporal serving in Beirut, Lebanon. He served in the Marine Corp from 1983 to 1987, was stationed at Camp Jejune and attained expert marksman rating.
He was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Mike is survived by his wife Juanita Madison Morgan of Salineville; his mother Barbara and her companion Ed Raffle; two sons, Jacob Bryce Morgan and Jason Michael Gearin both of Salineville; and one daughter Jennifer Morgan Kostial; two sisters, Jena (Paul) Harsh of Amsterdam and her children Chad, Sara, and Sara’s son Landon; Lori (Ed) Williams of Orlando , Florida and her son Alex; one brother, Charlie Morgan of Palm Bay, Florida and his son Josh and Josh’s daughter Zeda; and one grandson, Nicholas Gearin of Wellsville; and his pet dog Maggie.
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his grandfather Charles “Bus” Morgan and grandmother Geraldine (Weigle) Morgan.
Also preceding him were his favorite pets, Petey, Maybel, Mac, Buster “Bobo” and Willie who died in the fire.
Funeral services will be held 1:00PM Friday at the Kerr-Pastore-Weber Funeral Home in Salineville with Pastor Richard Rohrer of the Salineville Church of Christ officiating.
Burial will be in Highland Cemetery where members of the John Adams Post 442 Honor Guard will accord full military honors.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday 6-8 PM.
