February 9, 2014

Average city lot they are saying a mere $750...doesn't even cover your property tax! Oh, well I guess Elzer hasn't paid his...owes over $11,000 may he will be paying your bonus moola! Think things through!!!!! Moron

This is an opportunity for EP to prosper. Very little risk and the money could be huge for the community.

These people are all about thinking things through. They better think long and hard about not signing and then missing out on their signing bonus. Like this or not its happening people. For your own sake be smart about it.

This is exactly what is wrong with this country. The minority always trying to control the majority.

Hey, I'm with Cruiser and Jimbo. What's wrong with the rest of you? Millions of dollars in the bank for EP and our residents! I say if there is a drilling rig on every street corner, that's great! In fact, here's an idea. Why not one on the infield at the park? They're losing tons of money over there anyhow. You may think I'm joking, but I'm serious. Drill baby drill! You're crazy if you want to turn your backs on millions. Where do I sign?

HadEnough:Exactly. The council members have drug their feet for years...by not going after and bring in real business, all around us as prospered, but not EP. And now they want the lazy man's way to a quick buck. They are going to sell our the town's residents...instead of getting off their butts and going after real honest businesses. As said many times...They want and got their "bedroom community".

These comments are a microcosm of history. Over the centuries bullies have always tried to get their way by forcing thoughtful, rational people to act against their will, without first taking the time to more closely examine the important matters at hand. Any time someone suggests giving further thought to an important decision, to studying a course of action before committing to it, keep a close eye on those people who say "No no, we have to do this right now, my way, hurry up." Always ask what it is they don't want you to find out. These irrational beings are the very ones you should be suspicious of. Over time, these unthinking, mindless bullies are the ones that end up doing the most damage in any community.

I see now what everyone has been saying, you are dumb. Our town has not grown in 20 some years. No growth and no business for jobs. Our officials have personal agendas. This seems to be one with the gas leasing.

We need to put our faith in our elected officials. The electric fund was spent well before the current counsel members were serving our great community. Also money is a necessity to survive. people that say the town is greedy for wanting to do this must not work for money?

BigBoss=big idiot....minutes don't matter? What planet are you seriously living on? Those are elected officials screwing the people of the town. People better take notice and read what the heck this council is really up to. Living in the past dumbobrown? That's called life lessons...learn from past mistakes. The council for years has squandered the electric fund, what makes you think once they sell out the townfolk, that they won't get their greedy little paws on the money...and yep, squander the money they stole from it's residents! AGAIN!! Wake up, quit living for money.

My point was, when you rush into things without first checking the facts and doing your homework, mistakes get made. There is no reason to hurry here. If there is gas worth anything under EP it isn't going anywhere. And neither are the gas companies.

The residents of East Palestine can disagree with this all they want and I encourage them to attend council meetings and disagree till they're blue in the face. However, the law is the law. It's true we missed out on a lease in the past. Let's not make the same mistake.

Check the village council minutes, they're online. In August 2012 the village had a good gas lease offered to it, but Figley shouted everyone down, got his way, and forced his own gas-man on everyone hurry-hurry before they had a chance to think about it. He said his guy could get the village at least $6500 an acre right away but council had to act fast, RIGHT NOW!! So they leaped without looking, believed Figley, turned down a good lease offer, and Figley's guy did a complete disappearing act, never heard from again. The village lost hundreds of thousands of dollars because of Figley and because council listened to him and acted without taking the time to do their homework. Does that sound familiar? Deja vu all over again. Do these council folk never learn anything from experience? Check the minutes to jog your memories folks, it's there in black & white. Please don't do this to us again. Slow down. Study the facts. Only stupid people make the same mistake twice.
