It doesn't really seem like the correct time to place the blame, accuse or lecture about who did what wrong. These people had family- a large family- and the Benzels are some of the nicest people I have ever met. They have other children who can read these comments that you are posting- and I am positive that in this time of grief we should be sending prayers and good thoughts to these families and friends of these children. God Bless You Addisyn. Benzel family: you are in my family's prayers tonight. Nign family: God bless you all- we are all praying for you here in Minerva.

I agree with the previous comment. It is stunning to know that the driver and his wife were members of a volunteer fire department yet had so many children in the car. I am sure they were witness to accidents in the past so having kids in a cargo area to go to a skating party is outrageous. Why not take two cars? You might think you are a good driver but there are other drivers that are not. Prayers for these poor children without parents and the parents that lost the other little girl in the car.

While nothing excuses the driver IF she was preoccupied, it INFURIATES me to read of the BLATENT DISREGARD OF SAFETY for those children. Really beyond words to think an adult in this day could even think of not buckling those children in. People please make driving your number one priority when you are behind the wheel and never forget your child's safety is YOUR responsibility 100% of the time: all the time!!
