LISBON —The day is coming when finances could dictate the Columbiana County 911 system be consolidated into a single dispatching center, which may not sit well with the four other police departments......

is there ANY government officials we elect that truly have the best interest of our state, counties, cities and villages in mind? People that do the homework and do good for us?

This should have been done a long time ago, a consolidated 911 center is more efficient, costs less tax dollars, not many areas have 5 different dispatch centers. As far as MARCS radios, they are useless in buildings and they have yearly fee for usage, it is not the way to go, I suggest that the Columbiana fire chiefs get out the internet and do some research, these radio's will cause a safety issue.

Cranky aren't we? Besides, if I did run, you'd not cast a vote because I am against government handouts, illegal citizens,OBAMACARE and wasteful spending of public money! Apparently, you are FOR all the above, as your immature comment dictates!

Maybe you should just run for office jasonreager. You seem to have a comment for EVERY SINGLE NEWSSTORY and it's always criticism. If you've got all the answers, let's see you put your money where your mouth is and then maybe someone will give a s*it about what you have to say.

This is the same person that wanted to start a third fire deptment in a Twp. That already had 2 fire departments serving it. The tax money that those people in Unity twp pay does not all go to the other departments. And I have no confidence that Sheriff Ray Stone could run a county wide call center he doesn't care to handle fire deptment calls now.

More 911 scare tactics. Here we go again. The county needs more money to throw away. Did anyone hear a statistic on how many lives are saved since 911 was implemented? Now they can get lifeflight there quick enough to transport a broken finger. Last month there was a lifeflight and then treated and released.

Isn't it interesting that "merging" call centers is suggested. Dispatchers are paid by the community police department where the 911 call centers are located. So tell me, how is there reason to "merge" due to lower funding? Am I missing something, or is Weigle trying to suggest the only call center should be in Lisbon? I for one, think this is nothing more than a ploy to have all the 911 funding stay in Lisbon where the commissioners can control it! Not only is this idea bogus, but it also raises the questions of radio communications between the 911 call center and the local police departments who are on their own radio frequencies. Maybe Mr. Weigle will buy all the departments new MARCS radios! That I seriously doubt! Another bonehead idea from the commissioners in Lisbon!
