Guess I should have made myself clearer...Council basically doesn't want growth. That's pretty much what I meant, them and the so called mayor. It's a shame they don't see growth, and real jobs as a positive thing.

busmom, Who told you the majority didn't want growth? That is a fallacy. It's the current minority that doesn't. Don't believe everything you hear. That is why the current chamber will never take a public survey concerning that issue. They want to be in charge!

The people who don't want retail and manufacturing growth are the same ones who fancy the small mom and pop shops and keeping the concession stand open year round. But yet, are the same who will tell you the town doesn't need growth! Seriously, this is all that "negative" thinking that is so often told people who desire growth!

Most people in this "bedroom community" don't want it to grow. Found that out recently. It's so sad, could be a nice little village. Everyone is right...so much wrong and needs done, and no one has the bold attitude to stand up to them and get things rolling and done. These little businesses are fine, but we NEED real business to pay REAL wages to keep families here. Lots of communities have the little shops, but they also have industry and WANT to grow. EP does NOT want to grow, they have made it very clear, unfortunately.

The whole town would be in shock and awe if council would just do what needs to be done to bring legitimate growth and jobs. Really getting tired of the same old stuff, has it occurred to anyone the whole area is growing, but not the town? Why is that? Because of just plain DUMB legislation and council agendas. Park fees, Park concession stand open year round, Park community center fees, WTH? Come on! Let's get some real business expansion, growth and businesses that employ more than one or two! This is really getting depressing, quickly! The bedroom community is on it's death bed. Think about it!

I'm quite sure on a snowy cold January day, people will be patronizing the stand. Waste of meeting time discussing this.

I wonder how many candy bars will have to be sold to pay for the heat bill? How about the wages of persons working this stand. I didn't see anything about council members staffing it for free.

this village needs a clean sweep and put people in place that 1. Can get things done. 2. Get more business in here instead of a place to buy an Icee from. 3. Clean it up!!

Isn't amazing just how much is wrong, but little gets done? Instead of being constructive and bringing forth legislation to bring in NEW business, legislation to contact the PROPER authorities about the coal dust, council is having legislation drawn up to extend the concession stand to be open all year? What is wrong with this picture? Seriously!

Let the coal roll!!!! Council, go ahead and go after the railroad, alot of people in that town work for the railroad, that is alot of income tax but I know you don't care lets take that from the council member that sits on his porch all day and does not work on anything that really needs done on EP.

So the expanding business is the concession stand? Wadda HOOT! Maybe on the Saturdays during kids soccer games and spring softball and baseball, but not year round. Why would this even be brought up for legislation? Isn't there more important issues that need addressed?

Another crazy idea from Elzer, keep the concession stand open year round. Frankly, this may be his dumbest idea yet. This guy is determined to come up with half-baked schemes that cost the village money and make no sense. Who in their right mind is going to use the concession stand in January or February? What would they have that I would want so badly I would drive to the park in the dead of winter to get it? Surely, the other council members will see this for the stupid idea it is and stop it before it starts. We all see what a great businessman Don is, right? The theater building? Skerball's? The old hotel? Yeah, baby, those were fantastic ideas! Just keep 'em coming, Don.
