Taking a loan out that we are going to pay $12,000 in interest isn't saving the city any money and a waste of money. Why shoudl we pay Bank extra money when we could be paying our selfs some interest for borrowing the money. If we have extra money that we can lend toward this then let's do it and save the tax payers of this city a little extra money so we are not paying back interest...

Blakeman is a politician running for higher office and this is his campaign scree. Maybe he can "borrow" and never pay it back. But this is a loan from one city fund to another and must be paid back and will be within two years. Residents aren't paying twice. It is the cheapest way to finance the fire truck purchase and will save citizens money compared to other options.

Is Blakeman the only one in that town with any common sense? I don't live there, so it doesn't really matter to me, but I read these articles and I always walk away agreeing with Blakeman and thinking Ferguson and Schloneger are coo-coo. If I was a resident of that city, and they were using my utility payments into sewer, water, electric - whatever - to pay for a fire truck...AND I was already ALSO paying a fire levy, I would be irate.
