I agree with you LisaLisa, seems the reporter also does council meetings and seems to have a thing for writing negative articles and only gives one side of the argument.

East Palestine certainly never gets any good recognition for their schools. As much as they like to report only the negative, we actually do have great things going on. We have great kids, we have great staff members, and we have great administration. But one bad thing happens and that's what the morning journal reports on. If only the issues EP has were investigated in other schools, I'm quite sure they have drugs, troublemakers, and people there to get a paycheck instead of truly educate. People thinking their kid gets a better education in the next "small town " over should really reconsider, your kids education is what you make it. I challenge the "reporter" for the school info to get her hands dirty and get really get to know the staff at the schools and then report on the positive things that can most certainly be found in our communities.

Jason No, I did not go to Crestview and do not write for a living. I corrected my mistake. I do though, occasionally write newsletters etc and I take great pains to provide accurate information. It's obvious the reporter did not know the treasurer's name for whatever reason. She apparently googled "Crestview Treasurer" and ended up on the incorrect school's site. Very poor reporting.

I agree 100 percent Jason. No child should have to go to another district.

I am often shocked at what I read in the Morning Journal, not the content but the "journalistic integrity". Please do some real research, some real proofreading and use some intuitive thought BEFORE submitting your articles. The Crestview Treasurer is Charlene Mercure and has been for years. A simple google search show Tina Bennett is the treasurer at Crestview that is located in ASHLAND county. As some one who right locally you should have hit "one more button" on your search to make sure you had the correct info since obviously you didn't know the treasurer's name.

And how about those poor middle schoolers? Their periods will now be OVER TWO HOURS. Do the math, with 4 blocks that would mean over 8 hours of classroom time alone, not accounting for recess ( mentioned also in your article) lunch, and the special ( band, music art etc). Middle schoolers will be instead having their subjects in 70 minute periods. A correction is order.
