I was at the council meeting Monday night. The other hair-brain idea Elzer had is, he wants to do something to keep out-of-town people from using "our" swimming pool. His idea is to charge people from out of town a higher amount to get in. He got opposition on this from almost everyone. How would you check this? Ask 10 year old kids for their ID? What a dumb idea. All this would do is cost EP more money in the end as people stop coming to swim. Is this guy completely out of his mind?

There are other ways for safety forces to be made aware of how to contact business owners in case of emergencies. The thought of charging these businesses a fee to do more business in this town is bull. I think that all businesses do a great job of supporting our safety forces in different activities that they do. These businesses already pay TAXES! But then again the person behind this still has not moved his business to town, it is in Negley, and this restaurant is still not open either.

East Palestine has done its best to drive out business, so now lets add some more illegal registrations to run a few more out so certain folks that sit on council can buy the property. Even if it is done else where it does not make it right. Also stating that these forms would not be made public is an out right false statement. anyone could view them under the freedom of information laws. After all they are a part of the public record.
