So to all of you who have disagreed so far, tell me, is it right to intentionally run over an animal or fowl? If you agree, then you are just guilty as the goon who committed the deed. Just because someone's pets, got loose is not an open season on them! Is it right to run over a cat or dog? Same thing!

The article stated that they were confined and the work crew let them out so why is it their fault? Have you seen how many ducks and geese are pets in Columbiana? If it were against the law I am sure that something would have been done about it. The fact is there were MULTIPLE witnesses. I don't know how you interpret stop as pull forward. He deserves his sentence.

I am an animal lover, but I do not believe this was intentional, and can not be proved beyond a doubt. It is the owners responsibility to confine pets, no excuses are acceptable, and while he may not need a permit for an endangered species, I bet it is against zoning laws for him to have farm animals in a residential neighborhood.

Fine him and lock him up for the 120 days. Make sure there are plenty of Ducks in his cell.
