Only Elzer and Wisser, who head up the Chamber of Commerce, were pushing this. Not one other non-profit organization ever came forward to ask for free use of the center or support Elzer in his quest. He was trying to leverage free use of the place for himself, plain and simple. Clearly unethical use of a council seat. And Wisser follows her "boss" on council in everything, no mind of her own.

Shame on Elzer and Wisser for using the threat of making Dog Days pay to rent the park to scare everyone on this issue. Wisser started this. This type of emotional blackmail is as low as you can go. And Figley fell right in with them. Shame! Dog Days pays a fortune for paint, brushes, mulch and other supplies to fix up the park each year, but these 3 jerks want to charge them $200 to "use" the park. The 3 of them should be thrown out for this.

Both Elzer & Wisser should have excused themselves from voting.....period. Anything that Mr. Elzer proposes always benefits himself at some point....

Don't forget his position is up for re-election this fall....We need to find people to put on the ballet who truly care for this village and aren't trying to benefit personally.

Everyone who has commented so far, understand what a non profit does. that does not mean they have no money/no revenue. They have to pay like everyone else, what is the problem? If non profits really are that committed to a cause they can find the money to rent the community center or host the event at their house or elsewhere.

"The Federalist Papers", arguably the most important American documents ever written, were first published anonymously or under pseudonyms. It is not cowardly to publish under a pseudonym. In an increasingly acrimonious, intolerant society, where people are in fear of reprisal for simply expressing an opinion, it often becomes the only way the truth can be discussed. We must deal with bullies like BigCoward, who won't discuss issues when they can attack personally. Note he did not reveal HIS name.
