you can lock up the mentally ill but you cannot treat the mental illness with out a psychiatrist. the jail doesnt have one.

Who says it's a mental illness? This kid needs to be locked-up for quite a while. I hope the Judges throw the book at him. He clearly doesn't have any regard for the law or human life. It's reported that he was "choking" him, but if the jailer passed out, he was trying to kill him and was only stopped when someone happened by. I better not read where this kid gets a light sentence and is out in 90 days...

A good excuse to try and get out. Did the family want to pay a psychiatrist or want a freebie?

seeing as how the jail doesnt have a psychiatrist, how do you think you get one for free?

He'll get a mental evaluation now, on our dime. He still choked a guard out. No excuse for that kind of behavior.

That's why billy clubs/batons are used in some cases. Some need taught an immediate lesson on bad behavior. This p uke is a prime candidate.

Asiseefit: Oh I'm sure they tried to get one for free one way or another. Why didn't they take him to one BEFORE he got into trouble?

It's obvious he had the mental capacity to commit multiple crimes of different natures over a period of time. He now is feeble because he got caught? When his time comes with real prisoners he will find out they are not bound by the rules this officer is and there won't be a shrink to protect him.
