What is sad is the public was never given a voice in the matter. It was shoved through on "emergency" legislation. So, now all that money is gone, never to be paid back. Spent on what? Personal agendas? If so, those people need taken to court and dealt with severly, they took an oath of office! The town never should have touched that money, had it been paid back as originally legislated, running water and sewer to Unity for growth would have been easy and growth would have been already established 10 years ago!

When you borrow money from yourself you never pay it back. The public was against touching the trust because they knew it would be gone. Not only is the principle gone but by this time the interest would have doubled it. The shale money will be blown and all the tax payers will be left with are higher gas bills because the "windfall" for the government has disappeared.

This is just another sign that cities are failures. They can't support the population they have and crave new people to tax. When the drilling comes, watch how they spend it. It will be on new projects they can't support.

Payback suspended under the old administration and council. Now, nothing left to use. If it wasn't going to be paid back, why was it spent? The councils from the prior past wanted it paid back so it would be there. Now, it's gone forever. Thanks to all who spent it!
