COLUMBIANA — Different week, same result. ITCL upper tier champions, Crestview, was able to hold off East Palestine Friday in a Div. V, Region 17 playoff opener, 20-14. In Week 6, the Rebels (10-1) handed the Bulldogs (7-4) their first defeat of the season, 35-14. This time around the game was much closer from the beginning. After a scoreless first quarter, Crestview put up two touchdowns in the second frame as Dakota Norris scored from one-yard out and Carter Hill hooked up with Adam Britton from 13 yards away as the Rebels took a 13-0 lead with 5:48 left in the first half. The Bulldogs would get on the board before the break as Shane Egresi hauled in a 14-yard Shane Peterson pass to bring the score to 13-6 at halftime. Neither team scored in the third quarter, but Crestview took a two-score lead early in the fourth as Hill and Britton once again connected. Peterson would close out the scoring with 5:10 left with an 18-yard run, but the Rebel defense held on for the win.

CALCUTTA — Beaver?Local isn’t supposed to still be playing soccer this far into November.
It’s not a “soccer” school. There’s not a long tradition of greatness surrounding the program.
Still, the Beavers just keep on winning.
