Apple OSX 10.6 - Snow Leopard
July 6, 2009 - Ron Flaviano
While there don't seem to be any drastic improvements in the interface, Apple's Snow Leopard OSX 10.6 operating system promises to use next generation technologies to "unleash the power of today's advanced hardware." What I am most excited about is the lower price of the upgrade $29, instead of the typical $129. In addition, the OS is supposed to speed up the shut down time to a fraction of what it currently takes. Unfortunately for some Mac users, the new system will only run on Intel based machines, this rendering all pre-Intel G-5s and other units non-upgradable. This new system should arrive some time in September, 2009.
