A deserved vote

Lisbon residents will be asked again this November to vote for an issue that touches almost everyone in the community. A 3-mill renewal issue is being placed on the ballot by the Lisbon Cemetery Board.

Support by voting will be very much appreciated. It will not raise taxes.

We have been residents in the community for nearly 50 years. As is the case with many of you, we plan to be buried in this cemetery. Others of you will be making that decision sometime in the future. Many of you likewise visit the cemetery on a regular basis to pay respect at the gravesites of friends and relatives.

Regardless of what draws our attention to the cemetery, I think we all can attest to the high quality of the care and maintenance provided.

We like most residents get the opportunity to visit many other cemeteries throughout the area. The preservation of the grounds and serene beauty of the site are second to none in the tri-state area.

As has been the case for many years, the Lisbon Cemetery Board and its employees do an outstanding job of conserving the setting. They should be commended for their efforts. Their accomplishments are even more notable in that they are brought about under an extremely tight budget.

We, along with all the community who appreciate the continuance of what has been accomplished, need your help and support. We need you to vote on Election Day for the three-year Lisbon Cemetery renewal.

Remember, a vote does not increase your taxes. If you haven’t benefited already from what has been provided, you most likely will benefit at sometime in the future.
