The messenger

Editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to give credit where credit is due.

In his Sunday, Sept.1, comment, Mr. Giambroni said that I took information about the village’s two old naval cannons to the village council meeting. He is correct; I did indeed take the councilmen and Giambroni copies of an article that appeared in an Ohio Patriot of 1897. (Please do not take this letter as a criticism of the reporter, that is not my point!)

I was, however, merely the messenger. Leah Rudy of the Lisbon Historical Society staff did the real research. Mrs. Rudy spends many hours combing through microfilm of Lisbon’s two old and prominent newspapers, the Ohio Patriot and the Buckeye State. She brings these historical tidbits to the museum and shares them with the rest of the staff. The articles are then placed in the vertical file where others may learn from and enjoy them.

The museum is open every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (except holiday weeks) for research.
