Feet to the fire

Editor:

Lisbon’s bed tax was designed to create money to attract visitors to communities. The Chamber of Commerce uses its share to attract people to Lisbon via the Johnny Appleseed Festival, a huge annd loved event. I would especially like to see council be more than willing to donate money and time to keeping it alive.

According to the Ohio Revised Code, 66 percent must be spent to promote tourism and village attraction. And when the chamber shows its financials, council should show its financials if they truly have already spent their share on promotion before turning down the chamber’s request for helping fund police overtime.
