Team Clayton helps, asks help

As “Team Clayton” approaches our fourth year of fund-raising for the Walk for Autism to be held at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh on June 1, we look for another successful year. Through various contribution of different baskets for Chinese auctions and monetary donations toward last year’s spaghetti dinner/golf outing, we were able to donate $5,000 to the Autism Foundation’s “Walk Now for Autism Speaks” walk in Pittsburgh.

Autism is a disorder that affects one out of 88 children and carries into adulthood. With money raised through fund-raisers, we have been able to provide the Autism Speaks Foundation with money to be used in the research and awareness toward a cure.

So again we are asking for your help as a community to help us in our fight for a cure. We are now accepting donations of baskets, food, money, sponsors and most of all volunteer help in making everything come together to exceed this year’s goal of $6,000.

We will be accepting donations from now though May 8 for our spaghetti dinner and golf outing. The spaghetti dinner will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. March 23 at Salem Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 892, 496 Arch St. Carryouts will be available for $8 for adults, $4 for children and free for 3 and under.

Our “Take a Swing for Autism” third annual golf outing will be played May 18 at Pleasant View Golf Course in Louisville, Ohio. Price is $65 per person, $260 per team.
