James Carlisle, Jr.

LISBON — James F. Carlisle, Jr., 90, of Y-Camp Road, died at 7:36 p.m. Monday, April 15, 2019 at Blossom Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Aug. 12, 1928 in Lisbon, he was the son of the late James F. and Mildred (Dotson) Carlisle, Sr.

He worked for 30 years as a heavy equipment operator with Buckeye Industrial Mining, retiring in 1995, and was Episcopalian by faith. He was a veteran of World War II, serving as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise A. (Ravoria) Carlisle; son, Dennis James Carlisle; two sisters, Lucille Ritchie and Alice Schreffler; and a brother, George Carlisle.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda (Keven) Wylie of Lisbon and Barbara (Theodore “Ted”) McCullough of Georgia; sister, Mary Giest of Salem; brothers, William Carlisle of Seattle, Wash., and Leland Carlisle of Takoma, Wash.; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

No calling hours or funeral services are planned. Private burial will take place at the Wylie Family and Friends Cemetery.

The Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home, Lisbon, is in charge of arrangements.
