Donald Foster

CALCUTTA — Donald Keith Foster, Sr., 86, of state Route 7, Lisbon, died Thursday at the Calcutta Health Care Center.

Born in East Liverpool, Sept. 7, 1932, he was the son of the late George W. and Edna Walton Foster.

A lifetime area resident, he worked at the former International Mill Service in Midland for 35-1/2 years until retiring in 1998. A Korean War Veteran, he was a captain in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Calcutta Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Ann Pelley Foster; two daughters, Tamara Reiss of Pataskala and Delda Lauffenburger of Olathe, Kan.; three sons, Donald K. and Ron Foster, both of Lisbon, and Dean Foster of New Waterford; a sister, Gloria Brown of East Liverpool; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandson; three brothers, George “Bud” Foster, David “Sonny” Foster and Lyle Foster; and four sisters, Betty Owen, Barbara Myers, Shirley Myers and Eileen Portsmann.

Calling hours are 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Dawson Funeral Home. His son-in-law, Pastor Gary Reiss, will conduct services at 11 a.m. Monday. Burial will be at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens in Newell.
