Randy Bowersock I

EAST LIVERPOOL — Randy Edward James Bowersock I, 68, of East Liverpool, died Tuesday at Salem West Health Care Center.

Born in East Liverpool on Feb. 23, 1950, he was the beloved son of Marthalee “Martie” Burns Bowersock Phillips of East Liverpool and the late W. Bernard Bowersock, Sr.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and earned a Bronze Service Star in the infantry as a tank driver while he was stationed in Vietnam and Cambodia.

He worked at the former Crucible Steel Company until he was disabled in a car accident in the 1970s. He was Protestant.

In addition to his mother of East Liverpool, survivors include his children, Randy James Edward Bowersock II and Stephanie Hall, and a grandson .

He was preceded in death by a brother, William Bernard Bowersock, Jr.; his stepfather, W. Thomas Phillips; and a sister, Gypsy Phillips Clark.

Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Dawson Funeral Home, where services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Burial with military honors will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
