Jay Lyle

CONWAY, Pa. — Jay Oscar Lyle, 67, of East Liverpool, died Sunday.

Born in East Liverpool on Jan. 21, 1951, he was the son of the late James Lyle and Betty Jane Howell Hyde.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served two tours in Vietnam with the 11th Armored Cavalry “Blackhorse” Regiment. He was a member of the Laborers Local Union 833 in New Brighton, Pa., and also worked as a roofer with his son.

Survivors include two daughters, Crissie Baynum of Conway and Casey Lyle-Callahan of Rochester, Pa.; a son, Jay Oscar Lyle II of Harmony, Pa.; four grandchildren; three sisters: Sally Paugh of Wellsville, Jane Noble of Geneva and Sandy Barborak of East Liverpool; and four brothers, Ross Lyle, Jerry Lyle and Arch Hyde, all of East Liverpool, and Chuck Hyde of Ohio.

He was preceded in death by a brother, John Lyle.

Services with full military honors will be 3 p.m. Thursday at the Dawson Funeral Home with the Rev. Norman Eckert officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the service.
