SALEM — Bernice Anne Nelson 92, died at 7 p.m. Saturday at Auburn Skilled Nursing.
She was born on March 4, 1925, in Valley Stream, N.Y. to Ira and Anne (Danneman) Hobson, was raised in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and moved to Salem from Carle Place, Long Island, N.Y., in 1975.
A homemaker, she did mission work in Alaska in the late 1940s. She was a member of the Salem First Friends Church.
Survivors include five children, Linda Manypenny of Salem, Carol Denson of Chatham, Ill. David Nelson of Toluca Lake, Calif., Donna Dewey of Columbus and Jim Shannonhouse of Marysville; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur; a sister, Irene Hobson and an infant granddaughter.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Salem First Friends Church with Pastor Pete Fowler officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Cresthaven Gardens.
