SPRINGFIELD — Milton Lee Fowler, 82, of Springfield, formerly of East Liverpool, died Sunday at the Springfield Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
He was born Nov. 27, 1934 in East Liverpool, the son of the late Gerald M. Fowler and Mary Butcher Fisher.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
He retired as chief of the East Liverpool Police Department in 1986. He was at one time a member of the Bartow, Fla., Police Department.
He was a member of the Urbana Nazarene Church.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Dear.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Margaret Anderson Fowler; his children, Tanya Keyser of Salem, Tracy Hacker of Berlin Center, Todd Fowler of Fresno, Calif., and Melissa Ponder of Nicholasville, Ky. ; a brother, Tim Graham of East Liverpool; two sisters, Nancy Locke of Columbiana and Carol McQuade of Clearwater, Fla.; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will b e 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Arner Funeral Chapel, Chester, W.Va., with Pastor Larry Hall officiating.I nterment will follow at the Locust Hill Cemetery.
