Leona Weber

Leona Faye Weber, 85, of Hanoverton, passed away Friday afternoon, November 24, 2017 at Salem Regional Medical Center. She was born July 18, 1932 in Calais, Oh., a daughter of the late Alva and Evah Morris.

A loyal wife, faithful mother and hilarious grandma, Leona loved serving others through opening her simple home and creating a space for everyone to feel deeply loved. She especially enjoyed talking on the phone for hours, learning about the Civil War, laughing at her own stories and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. She was a member of Lisbon Trinity Friends Church and dedicated to serving Christ as a part of this church family.

Leona is survived by her brother Ralph Morris of Guilford Lake; children, Joe (Fran) of Lisbon, Larry (Kathy) of Richmond, Va., Kathy of Hanoverton, Jerry (Debbie) of Louisville; Sue (Jeff) Nape of Boardman and Randy (Tina) of North Benton; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Karl and their infant son, Danny; three brothers, Bob, Harold and Roy Morris; and two sisters, Opal Schultheis and Celia Douglas.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at Lisbon Trinity Friends Church, officiated by Pastor Ron Robinson. The burial will follow at Trinity Friends Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, November 27, 2017 at Lisbon Trinity Friends Church.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff at the Salem Regional Medical Center ICU for caring for Mom with integrity and compassion.
