SALEM — Barbara Berger, 78, died 6:40 p.m. Monday at the Canterbury Villa in Alliance.
She was born Feb. 12, 1939 in Allen, Ky., the daughter to the late Gardis and Dixie (Burchett) Pitts.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly S. Berger; a son, Michael Kent Berger; a brother, Jack Pitts; and two half sisters, Lois Carson and Mary Lou Pitts.
Survivors include her husband, Wade Berger; three sons, Frank Berger of Salem, Jeff Berger of Chapin, S.C. and Mark Berger of Pittsburgh; a daughter, Rebecca Palmer of Salem; a sister, Evelyn Brinkley of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; two half brothers, Wayne Pitts of Youngstown and Kenneth Pitts of Columbus; and eight grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. Robert Edwards officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home.
