Armani Slappy

EAST LIVERPOOL — On Sunday, May 21, 2017, Armani J. Slappy, 17 months, was received into the merciful arms of Jesus while in the presence of his family at Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, where he had been taken following a tragic accident which occurred at his home on Friday afternoon. He and his family have been surrounded by unrelenting love and fervent prayers ever since.

A cherished son of Jessica Reynolds and Reese Slappy, both of East Liverpool, Armani was born on December 18, 2015 in Boardman. He was a special brother to Honestee Hull and Deonte Slappy, and brought continuous joy to his grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles and extended family. Always happy and content, he loved giving hugs and kisses to everyone. He also loved the beach, and had an endless curiosity for tractors, cars, and anything with wheels.

He and his family are members of the Destiny House Church in Calcutta, and he was baptized on Saturday at the hospital with all of his loved ones present.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Amy Hissom; maternal grandfather, Jim Reynolds; paternal grandmother, Lisa Dorsey; paternal grandfather Roger Slappy; maternal great-grandmother, Barbara Fitch Show; and maternal great-grandfather, Jim Hissom. He was also loved by many special people in his life, including a great community of friends who have come together in support of the family during this time of immense grief. The kindness and generosity of others will not be forgotten.

Friends may visit Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home.

Pastor Robert Valentine of Destiny House will officiate at a service to be held at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Friday.

Armani will be laid to rest at Lisbon Cemetery, after which time family and friends will gather at the Destiny House for a continued time of fellowship.
