Leslie ‘Les’ Burgess, Jr.

Big Beaver Boro, Pa. — Leslie “Les” F. Burgess, Jr., 89, a lifelong resident of Big Beaver, passed away in his home on Sunday, February 26, 2017.

Born March 30, 1927 in New Brighton, he was the son of the late Leslie F. Sr. and Margaret McGowin Burgess. He was a World War II veteran having served in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and had been a self employed truck driver for over 40 years.

He is survived by his wife Jean Burgess, three children, Judy and her husband Glenn Sutherin, East Palestine, OH, Keith Burgess, Big Beaver, Merrily and her husband Luis Laboy, Harrisburg, PA, seven grandchildren, Rebecca Junkins and her husband Jim, Robert Sutherin, Jenifer Sutherin, Brian Allison and his wife Dawn, Autumn Rump and her husband Tony, Damian Walker and Aaron Walker, six great-grandchildren, a sister and brother-in-law, Ruthann and Mike Shane, New Brighton, brother-in-law, John Hutchinson, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Hutchinson, and a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Gloria Burgess.

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 6 p.m. until the time of the service at 8 p.m. in the Hill & Kunselman Funeral Home, www.hillandkunselman.com., 3801 Fourth Ave., College Hill, Beaver Falls, with Rev. Lee Bittner officiating. Private interment in Sylvania Hills Cemetery, Daugherty Township.
