Sebring — David W. Peppel, 90, formerly of Columbiana, passed away January 29, 2017, at Copeland Oaks.
Mr. Peppel was born on December 16, 1926, in Leetonia, Ohio, the son of Emir and Dorothy Peppel. He proudly served his country in the Marine Corps during WWII and the Korean Conflict. David retired in 1981 from his job as a supervisor at Republic Steel. He was an avid woodworker and enjoyed cycling, traveling, and driving his Miata in his retirement. But most of all, he enjoyed the time he spent with his family.
David will be greatly missed by his two sons, Tyler and his wife Shelly of Belvedere, California and David Todd and his wife Erin of Cortland, New York; five grandchildren, Wiley, Eliza, Christopher (Shaylah), Gregory (Alison), and Geoffrey (Natalie); one great-grandson, Henry; his sister Jane Otto of Hamilton, Ohio; nephew Paul (Martha); niece Jo (Jerry) Helmers and their children, Maggie (Adam) and Ben (Michele) with whom he was very close.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his one true love, wife Margery, whom he married on March 22, 1952, and who passed July 3, 1999.
A celebration of his life will be held by the family at a later date.
