William Nightingale

TORONTO — William E. “Bill” Nightingale, 75, of Toronto, died Tuesday at the Valley Hospice Care Center North, Steubenville. He was born Oct. 1, 1941 in Toronto, the son of the late James Edward Nightingale and Ruth Eleanor (Douds) Nightingale.

He had retired as a lineman from the Ohio Bell Telephone Co. (AT&T) and as a bus driver for the Toronto city schools. He was a member of the Toronto Wesleyan Church.

A brother, David Nightingale , preceded him in death.

Survivors include five daughters, Dianna Lynne Nightingale of Chandler, Ariz., Jann Ellen Deku of Elsmere, Ky., Joan Elaine Royer of Waynesburg, Darla Sue Nightingale of Wellsville and Denise Ann Sczruba of Wintersville; the Rev. Richard Nightingale of East Aurora, N.Y.; and eight grandchildren.

Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Clarke Funeral Home, Toronto, where a celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, officiated by the Rev. Robert Benesh. Interment will follow at the Sugar Grove Union Cemetery.
