Earl Diddle

EAST LIVERPOOL — Earl W. Diddle, 90, died Sunday.

A lifetime resident of East Liverpool, he was born April 8, 1926, the son of the late John Everett and Gladys Elizabeth Tate Diddle,

He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving as a petty officer in the Philippines. He worked more than 36 years for Ohio Bell as an installer, repair technician and test-board operator, retiring in 1985. He was a member of First Free Methodist Church in East Liverpool.

Survivors include his wife, the former Bonnie Jean Blackmore; three children, Pastor Daryl Alan Diddle and Jerry Everett Diddle, both of Wilmore, Ky.; and Colette Jean Diddle of Lakewood; a sister, Delma Eisenhart; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Dawson Funeral Home with his son officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park. Calling hours are 6-8 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the service Tuesday.

Memorial tributes may be made to the general fund of the First Free Methodist Church, East Liverpool.
