EAST LIVERPOOL – Samuel “Sam” Giordano, 85, of East Liverpool, died Tuesday at East Liverpool City Hospital.
He was born Aug. 19, 1929, in Wellsville, the son of the late Gabriel and Govina (Natale) Giordano.
Mr. Giordano served in the United States Army and the United States Navy in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was employed for 15 years on the railroad at the former Crucible Steel Mill before retiring in 1982. He was most recently employed as a bagger at Giant Eagle.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Parish.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Wilma (Dudgeon) Giordano; two daughters, Joyce Boggs of Beaver, Pa., and Jolene Caldwell of Louisville, Ky.; two sons, Samuel “Tony” Giordano of Louisville, Ky., and Mark Giordano of Wellsville; two sisters, Geraldine “Babe” Bryer of East Liverpool and Carmela Boyce of Wellsville; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary Johnston, Antoinette Walker, Rose Valone and Lee Rinaldo; and three brothers: James, Fred and John Giordano.
A Catholic burial rite will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Roberts Funeral Home with Deacon Anthony Giordano of St. John’s Parish in Monaca officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday.
