CALCUTTA – Helen L. Taylor Young, 77, formerly of Calcutta, died Friday in Clearwater, Fla., where she had been living for the last seven years.
She was born in Mannington, W.Va., on Jan. 18, 1937 the daughter of the late Lester Mike, and Elma (Davis) Robinson, and lived most of her life in this area.
She had worked as a visiting nurses aide for 12 years and was a member of Good Shepherd, formerly the Anderson United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three sons, William “Bill” Taylor of Cummings, Ga., Christopher Taylor of Clearwater and Daniel Taylor of Columbia, S.C.; a stepson, John “Buddy” Young of East Palestine; two brothers, Cecil Mike of New Cumberland W.Va., and Russell Mike of Chester W.Va., two sisters, Clara Villers of Barton W.Va.,, and Arlene Shuman of East Liverpool; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Taylor; her second husband, John Young; a brother, Earl Mike, and a sister, Adalene Leasure.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes with Pastor Ashley McMillin of the church officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana County Memorial Park. Calling hours are 4-8 p.m. Friday.
