KENSINGTON – William “Bill” Carl Ankeny, age 59 of Kensington passed away at his residence, August 7, 2014. He was born February 3, 1955 to Charles Freeman and Helen Irene (Beadnell) Ankeny in Salem, Ohio.
Bill was a truck driver for R&L Carriers. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Hanoverton. Bill enjoyed riding his Harley in Poker Runs and was a member of the Salem Club.
Survivors include his wife Rita (Marie) Yeager Ankeny of the residence whom he married May 23, 2014; his mother Helen of Minerva; brother Charles (Terrie) Ankeny, Jr. of Hanoverton; a sister in law Bonnie Ankeny of New Galiee, PA; a daughter Stacey Marie Ankeny and three stepchildren: Dianna, Josh and Kayla Marquis and a grandson C.J. “Colton” Adams. He is also survived by Ryan Little, who was like a son to him. Bill was preceded in death by his brother Harvey Ankeny, his father Charles Ankeny Sr. and his dog Bear.
Calling hours for Bill will be Saturday, August 9, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Maple Cotton Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be given to the Hospice of the Valley. The funeral service will be Sunday, August 10, 2014 at 1 p.m. at the Maple Cotton Funeral Home with Bob Noland officiating. Cremation will take place at a later date.
