ROGERS – Thelma J. Wells, 72, of Sprucevale Road, died at 2 p.m. Sunday at home.
The daughter of the late Carl and Sarah Ann Johnson Kearns, she was born in Newell, W.Va., on Dec. 27, 1941, and lived in California for 40 years before returning to this area in 2006.
A homemaker, she had been a bookkeeper for Don Smith at one time.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Wells, a son, Melvin Leroy Hughes, Jr., and a sister, Iva Mae LeFebvre.
Survivors include three sons,Dale Edward Hughes of Reno, Nev., Roger Alan Hughes of Rogers and Thomas Jeffery Hughes, of Fair Oaks, Calif.; five sisters and three brothers, Juanita Faulk of Struthers, Shirley Brewer, Rose Halligan and Alice Horner of Lisbon, and Sue Watson of Rogers, Carl “Conner” Kearns, Jr. of Cleveland, William Kearns of Yuba City, Calif., and John Kearns of Alliance; and several grandchildren.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Dawson Funeral Home, where services will be at 11 a.m. Friday.
