Columbiana, Ohio – Nancy Jo Figley Hunter, 48, of Columbiana passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side at 6:05 p.m. Thursday, August 7, 2014, following a courageous four-year battle with serious illness.
Nancy was born February 3, 1966 in Salem, a daughter of Margaret (Summers) Rudloff of Columbiana and the late Robert Thomas Figley, Sr. She was a homemaker and had lived in the area for most of her life.
She is survived by her husband, Jeff Hunter, whom she married May 5, 1990 and a daughter, Sarah Nicole Hunter, at home. Other survivors include two brothers, Robert T.(Marilyn) Figley, Jr. of Columbiana, and Thomas S. (Diane) Figley, of East Palestine; two sisters, Sue Figley (Mike) Mansfield, of Columbiana, and Peggy Figley (Grady) Clark of Woodbridge, VA; two half brothers, Sam Figley of Clearwater, FL and Robert Lewis of Newport Richey, FL and two half-sisters, Patty Figley (Steve) Pamas of Jacksonville, FL and Shawna Melnick, of Waterford, MI., as well as her step-mother, Tamiko Figley of Floral City, FL. She also leaves behind her three cats, Tommi, Suzie and Boo.
A brother, William “Ted” Figley, preceded her in death, as did her step-father, Jim Rudloff.
Friends will be received Sunday from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home, East Palestine. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 11th at St. Jude Catholic Church in Columbiana with Rev. Thomas Ziegler officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date in St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Palestine.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations to the memorial fund they have established in the name of Nancy J. Hunter for her final expenses and her daughter’s educational needs at any Huntington Bank Branch.
