COLUMBIANA – A. Irene Forney, 88, died at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, August 9, 2014, at the Blossom Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born December 5, 1926 in East Palestine, Ohio, the daughter of the late Joseph and Miriam (Steiner) Harp.
She was a 1945 graduate of Salem High School. She was last employed as a clerk at the Hills Department Store in Boardman. She was a member of the St. Jude Catholic Church in Columbiana.
Her husband, Richard Forney, whom she married July 17, 1948, preceded her in death on February 24, 2006. She was also preceded by two brothers, Joe and Paul Harp.
Survivors include: two daughters, Susan Joyce of Columbus and Linda (Lucky) Latteau of Newton Falls; three grandchildren, Christine (Wesley) Cross of Columbiana; Stephanie (Brandon) Fisher of Columbus, Patrick Joyce of Columbus; three great-grandchildren, Alexis and Travis Cross, and Collin Joyce; two brothers, James and Thomas Harp of Salem.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the St. Jude Catholic Church in Columbiana, father Christopher Cicero officiating. Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., on Wednesday at Stark Memorial Funeral Home in Salem. Burial will be in Columbiana Cemetery.
