Eileen Byland

SALEM – Eileen Byland, 84, died at 2:09 p.m. at the Salem Regional Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 29, 1929 in London, England, the daughter of the late William and May (Hughes) Smith.

Mrs. Byland was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church. She had been a seamstress for many years.

Her husband, Louis Elliott Byland, preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Elliott Byland of Cloverdale, California and Mark Byland of Salem; two daughters, Davina Miller and Gillian Gonci, both of Salem; seven grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

A funeral mass will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul with Fr. Robert Edwards officiating. Calling hours are 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home.
