Anthony Capraruolo

NEWELL, W.Va. – Anthony P. Capraruolo, 89, formerly of Grant Street, died 9:58 a.m. Monday at East Liverpool City Hospital.

He was born July 3, 1925, in Oakdale, Pa., the son of the late John and Mary Forte Capraruolo, and lived most of his life in this area.

Mr. Capraruolo was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He worked many years at Crucible Steel and later was a maintenance worker at Weirton General Hospital and also carried newspapers and drove an armored truck for some time.

He was a member of St. Aloysius Church, Holy Trinity Parish.

Survivors include three daughters, Christine M. Bell of East Liverpool, Terry Headley of Boardman and Carla Link of Morgantown; a son, John Anthony Capraruolo, Sr., of East Liverpool; two sisters, Lucy Beerer of California and Angela Johnston of Chester; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Margaret Ann Turcowski, and his siblings, Madeline, Samuel and Dominic Capraruolo. Two sisters also survive, Lucy Beerer of California, and Angela Johnston of Chester.

A mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Holy Trinity Parish with Fr. Peter Haladej as the celebrant. Burial with military honors will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park Cemetery.
