Lisbon – William A. “Bud” Wright, 75, of Wellsville Ave., passed away unexpectedly at 6:55pm, Friday, July 4, 2014 in the emergency room at East Liverpool City Hospital.
Mr. Wright was born April 14, 1939 in Wellsville, Ohio, a son of the late Donald W. and Eva V. (Williamson) Wright, and had lived in Lisbon since 1957.
Bud worked as a coal miner and had worked with various mining companies over the years, most recently with Ohio Coal and Construction in Wintersville, Ohio, where he retired in 1987.
He loved to hunt and fish, and will be remembered for his love of his family. Bud’s favorite place was his “Basshead” camp, where he spent many days with his family over the years.
Bud is survived by his wife, P. Jane (Cusick) Wright, whom he married March 20, 1965; daughters, Mary Jane (Gene) Blackburn, Hope E. Wright, and Brenda Lee (Shawn) Sorgman, all of Lisbon; sisters, Donna J, Hawkins of Columbiana, and Mary (Lloyd) Richards of Lisbon; brother, James “Skip” (Betty) Wright of Leetonia; grandchildren, Joe L. McVay of Glenmoor, Justin R. McVay, Andrew “A.J.” Wright, Chloe L. Sorgman, and Olivia S. Sorgman, all of Lisbon; 4 step granddaughters, and 3 step great granddaughters.
Mr. Wright was also preceded in death by his brothers, Donald E. Wright and Charles “Chum” Wright; sisters, Patsy Groff and Dellorma Landsberger; and granddaughter, April Lynn McVay.
A memorial for Bud will be held at 1pm, Sunday, July 13, 2014 at the family’s camp off of Steubenville Pike Rd. South off of Route 39 at Highlandtown, just follow the signs.
