William Bowers

ROGERS, Ohio – William Perry Bowers, passed at his residence on Tuesday, July 08, 2014 with his family at his side.

Bill was born on January 25, 1938 in Rogers, Ohio, the eldest son of Robert and Betty Clark Bowers. William was a lifetime resident of Rogers, Ohio.

On February 7, 1956, he entered active duty with the United States Army. He served his country until his honorable discharge from the reserves on February 6, 1964.

William was a sales correspondent for Kaiser National Refractories. He retired from his duties in 2002 after forty-eight years of service.

On May 18, 1959 in Cumberland, Maryland, William and Nancy Melott were united in marriage. They had just celebrated their fifty-fifth wedding anniversary.

Enjoyable pastimes included golfing with the Kaiser Golf League and participating in a bowling league with his friends. A quiet daily pastime would be working a crossword puzzle with Nancy. During his trips to Canada, he would enjoy fishing for walleye. His Bichon Yorkshire Terrier mix, Joe, was a true companion.

Memories of William will be carried on by his wife, Nancy; his children, Robert L. Bowers, Joyce Costanzo, Susan (John) Mast, William (Charolette) Bowers, II, James Bowers and Christina Flickinger; his sixteen grandchildren, Shannon Mast, Travis and Kim Bowser, Ben and Ashton Bowser, Atije Booth and Brian, Sabria Shemo, Josh Shemo, Emily Lovelace, Micha Bowers, Sarah Dawe, Myra Dawe, Alyisa Bowers, Brian Bowers and Tamika, Erin Glendennig and Ty, Jennifer Reed, Nanci Reed and Elizabeth Flickinger; his 26 great grandchildren; his brothers, Fredrick, Daniel and John Bowers and his sisters, Bonnie Bennett, Patricia Guy and Peggy Hamm.

The family requests that material tributes may be made in memory of Bill to the Ronald McDonald House.

Arrangements for William were entrusted to the Borowski Funeral Service and Oak Meadow Cremation Services.
