EAST LIVERPOOL – Mary Ellen (Maze) Montgomery, 77, of East Liverpool, died Thursday at Kindred Hospital in Beaver, Pa.
She was born Oct. 14, 1936, in Fairmont, W.Va., the daughter of the late Herbert L. and Mary Ellen (Sloan) Maze.
She retired in 2000 from the East Liverpool school district where she was a teacher for 33 years. She had previously been employed as a bus driver.
She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth J. “Red” Montgomery; and two brothers, Courtney Allen Maze and Herbert Lincoln Maze Jr.
Survivors include one daughter, Amy E. Lacey of East Liverpool; two sons, Kenneth L. Montgomery of Wellsville and Charles L. Montgomery of East Liverpool; two sisters, Marlene French and April Beadnell; three brothers, Rhett B. Maze, Ralph Maze and Roland Maze; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Roberts Funeral Home, Wellsville, with Pastor Merle Williams of First Church of the Nazarene in East Liverpool and Pastor Don MacNeil of Church of the Nazarene in New Brighton, Pa. officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Family will gather 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
