WELLSVILLE – John E. “Jack” Call, 75, of Wellsville died Tuesday at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, following a lengthy illness.
He was born Aug. 5, 1938 in East Liverpool, the son of the late Elmer S. “Ike” and Martha E. (Ensinger) Call.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He had been employed for over 30 years as a furnace operator for the former Crucible Steel Mill before retiring in 1982. He was also employed as a supervisor for Earth Tech and most recently as an associate at Roberts Funeral Home.
He served as a village councilman, and he was the service director of Wellsville under former mayor Nunzio Lombardozzi. He also served on the board of directors for Buckeye Water District.
He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Dorothy Call.
Survivors include his wife, Rosalie (Fusco) Call; one daughter, Lori A. Call of Wellsville; one son, Scott Call of Wellsville; one sister, Peggy Bloor of East Liverpool; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 6 p.m. Friday at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Brad Call, officiating. Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 4-6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
