East Palestine – Helen Jane (Weaver) Salyers passed away July 29, 2014 after living a wonderful life to the age of 90. She is reunited in Heaven with her husband of 59 years, William Salyers. She was the daughter of Clyde and Margaret (Kleist) Weaver.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Sharon (Gary) Hostetter, Cindy (Chuck) Blower, and Billie Jo (Jeff) Townsend. She also leaves behind her beloved brother, Roy Weaver, who always held a special place in her heart. Helen was blessed with seven grandchildren, Jeff & David Hostetter, Holly Muransky, Jason and Jesse Blower, and Taylor and Zach Townsend and 9 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Salyers whom she married March 19, 1949, her two sisters, Betty Matthews and Margie Lewis, her stepmother Tessie Weaver and a stepsister, Edna Mae Smith.
Helen always enjoyed spending time with her family, going to Bingo and Mountaineer. The Family would like to say a special thank you to the caregivers that made it possible for Helen to be able to stay at home during the past 2 1/2 years, Sue Sayers, Vicki Valentine, Jenny May, Karen Lukanec, Wendy Zocolo, Kelly Ludt and Denise McCreary. These women took wonderful care of our Mother and each one of them treated her like she was a part of their own family. We would also like to thank Hospice of the Valley, Covington and Parkside for the wonderful care she received.
Family and friends will be received Friday, August 1, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home in East Palestine, and burial will be at the Crest Haven Memorial Gardens in New Waterford, Ohio. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Agust 2nd at the funeral home with Rev. Ralph Edwards of the Good Hope Lutheran Church, North Lima, officiating.
