SALEM – Helen Bodirnea, 89, of Salem died 4 a.m. Wednesday at the Inn at Glenellen in Boardman, where she had resided for the past five years.
She was born April 28, 1925 in Pittsburgh, the daughter of the late Mike and Theresa (Konor) Thomas.
Before her retirement in 1987, she had worked as a secretary for 41 years at the former Deming Crane.
She was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George A. Bodirnea; and two brothers, Mike and George Thomas.
Survivors include a son, George J. Bodirnea of Louisville, N.C.; and a granddaughter.
A memorial funeral mass will be held at the St. Paul Catholic Church at a later date. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery.
There are no calling hours.
