Edward Gregory

SALEM – Edward L. “Bud” Gregory 93, of Salem, died at 8:50 p.m. Thursday at the Blossom Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born Oct. 3, 1920 in East Oakdale, Ky., the son of Overton Lee and Constance Deacy (Tressell) Gregory, and had lived in Salem for 50 years.

Mr. Gregory served 20 years in the U.S. Navy, and was aboard the destroyer the USS Dale during the attack on Pearl Harbor. He later served 10 years in the National Reserves and worked almost 25 years for RAG Tooling.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah “Woodie” Woodard, and three sisters, Marguerite Miller, Irene Milton Green and Lula Mae Winchester.

A private service will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery.
