EAST PALESTINE – Thomas J. Wray, Sr., 79, died peacefully at the Hospice of the Valley, Poland, Ohio, on Wednesday, June 25.
Mr. Wray was born November 21, 1934, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas T. Wray.
He graduated from South High School in 1952. He worked for AT&T for 32 years and retired in 1994.
Mr. Wray is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jacqueline (Foltz) Wray; three daughters and one son, Janice (Jim) Lynch, Kathy (Brian) Birmingham, Alice (Ernie) Plum and Thomas (Sharon) Wray Jr.
He had seven grandchildren, Alicia Cope, Stephanie Fred, Kelly Lynch, Rick Plum, Erik Birmingham, Austin Wray and Sydney Wray; and two great-grandchildren. Delana Cope and Braydon Plum.
He is also survived by one sister and two brothers, Shirley Martin of Hershey, Pennsylvania, Harold Wray of New Middletown, Ohio and Clyde Wray of Mineral Ridge, Ohio.
Per Tom’s request, there will be no calling hours, however, there will be a memorial service at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 5, at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 2427 Columbiana Road, New Springfield, Ohio. Lunch will follow.
