James L. “Jim” Pike of 155 W. Main Street, Washingtonville, Ohio passed peacefully on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Essex II of Salem with those he loved by his side.
Jim was born on April 22, 1939 in Salem, Ohio, the son of Raymond L. and Nora Stokesbury Pike of East Fairfield, Ohio, where he spent most of his life.
After graduating from the old East Fairfield High School, Jim enlisted on March 2, 1962 into the United States Army and after completing his reserve duty on December 31, 1967, he received his honorable discharge.
Jim later graduated from Youngstown State University with a business degree and an engineering degree from Penn State University.
He had been employed as a purchasing agent and a heavy machine assembler at Alliance Machine until he retired in December of 2000. After his retirement, he drove truck for various companies.
Jim was a lifelong member of the East Fairfield Methodist Church.
He was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge and also a member of the Youngstown Shrine Club of North Lima.
He leaves at home his friend and partner of 45 years, Ron Emerick; also at home his loving friend and caregiver, Debra Placer and his nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded by his parents and his sister, Mrs. Ruth Ann Keslar of New Waterford.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date at the East Fairfield Methodist Church.
Arrangements for Jim were entrusted to the Borowski Funeral Service and Oak Meadow Cremation Services.
