EAST FAIRFIELD – Gary A. Meek 69, of East Fairfield, died at 2:27 AM Thursday at the home of his daughter.
He was born on July 7, 1944 in Salem, the son of the late Kenneth A. and Mary Ida (Shaw) Meek.
He has been a lifetime area resident and served in the US Navy during the Vietnam war. He was last employed for 29 years as a supervisor at Majestic Mfg. in New Waterford. He previously had been employed at Logue Monument, NRM and worked on area farms. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking and collecting anniversary clocks.
He is survived by his wife, the former Karen Jean Ganitch whom he married on November 9, 1963, his children, Kenneth Paul (Janet) Meek of Salem, Steven Scott (Wendy) Meek of Lisbon, Kimberly Ann Meek and Andrew Allen Meek both of Leetonia, a brother Gale Edward (Diane) Meek of Lisbon, grandchildren, Shydel Marie and Mackenna Elaine Meek.
Services will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 7 Pm at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services with the Rev. Bob Rowley, Chap. At Salem Regional Medical Center, and his son Andrew Meek officiating. Burial will be at Green Haven Memorial Park in Canfield. The honor guard will provide full military honors at the close of the services.
A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the services. The family is asking that donations go to American Cancer Society Relay for life of Poland 525 N. Broad Street, Canfield, Ohio 44406.
